Garden Sketching and Painting Day
A beautiful gift to yourself - creativity, mindfulness, peace
Time & Location
10 May, 10:30 – 16:30
Goodnestone, Goodnestone, Faversham ME13 9DA, UK
About the event
Drop in for a couple of hours, or take your time and stay for the whole day. This is a wonderful gift to yourself - a chance to slow down, mindfully be with the nature around you, noticing and observing, and connecting your inner and outer worlds through drawing and painting.
This will be entirely self-led, so you are free to find your own spot in the garden and draw or paint whatever inspires you. Chat to other participants and share your art if you wish, or enjoy your own space and opportunity for quiet - the choice is yours.
The granary will serve as a hub - a place to buy drinks and snacks and socialise if you want to. At 1pm we will share a communal lunch. You can pre-order a delicious Wasted Kitchen mixed salad, or bring you own. Again, there is no pressure to join in if you'd like to be alone.
Mindful Movement and Deep Relaxation at 2pm with Simone Stolton (Kent Mindfulness Centre). We are pleased to annouce that Simone will be leading a session of mindful movement in the garden*, followed by a guided deep relaxation. This optional activity will be the perfect complement to your time painting or sketching. (*We suggest you bring a yoga mat or blanket for this)
Local artist, Rebecca Lehmann will be here for the day, working on one of her watercolours with gilding in the granary. You are welcome to watch her while she's working and chat to her about her process. See examples of Becky's work here.
PAYMENT BY DONATION - Instead of paying for your entrance ticket in advance, please make a donation on the day. Any amount will be gratefully received (please bring cash if possible). This money will go towards the costs of hosting and facilitating the day.
