About the event
It’s autumn and it’s definitely the season to prepare our bodies for the colder weather.
Come along to Langdon where we will chat with local herbalist Mandy Rickard about the veg and herbs we can easily get, gather or grow ourselves to support and strengthen our immune system. We’ll then settle down in the Granary to chop, grate and prepare a delicious tonic to spice up your life; or at least your salads, dinners, circulation and immunity!
Known as fire cider, this spicy tonic is actually alcohol free and a great addition to your store cupboard. You will take home the tonic, plus a detailed handout containing simple instructions for how to strain and finish off at home once it’s ready. There are so many ways to fight off viruses, keep warm and healthy, and we want to show you some of the really tasty ones!
The workshop is from 10.30 to 12.30 and will be followed by lunch from 12.30 to 1.30, in the Granary or by the pond if the weather is mild enough. Bring your own lunch along, or add a delicious Wasted Kitchen soup or dhal* for £8 when you check out. (*Vegetarian as standard. Please contact us if you require vegan, or with any other specific dietary requirements) Hot drinks are included in the price.
